ICEBERG
having a reputation for producing street wear in a high end spectrum means that the house has the ability to produce a collection that mixes street level experiments, with high end attention to detail and fabrication. usually associated with cartoon-ish prints, this time around the design team channeled the spirit of pop artist roy lichetenstein and came out with clothes that looked perfect on a sophisticated cat woman. there has always been an element of animation with iceberg, it was was once designed by castelbajac and that spirit of humor and reverence for pop culture continues to be part of the brand's main identity. this season however there was a certain attention paid to more serious clothes. the biggest surprise this season was in its knitwear. braids of huge knitted ropes circled necks like an exaggerated gold chain and gave an edge to this season's biggest trend of sweater dressing. there were also quilted pieces that was incorporated into the collection in the form of a quilted pencil skirt, or as an arm on a menswear inspired jacket. there were a lot of ideas in this collection that made it appear at times to be unfocused. it could've used a certain level of editing, but then again, these are clothes for people who want to have fun and having fun is one thing that should never be edited.
